A review plan is a way to structure your study time (including homework and assignments during the year), set your learning goals , and hold yourself accountable . Planning will also help you figure out how much time you have each day so you don’t bubble up for three weeks, and then work day and night on the homework you purposely forgot.

Your review schedule should take into account all of your subjects and include important dates, deadlines, and goals . A well-defined and structured plan will hold you accountable and ensure that you prepare adequately and on time for your homework and exams. Ideally, it should also prevent you from procrastinating and putting everything off until the last minute, which will help youbetter manage your stress as exams approach.

And don’t forget: if you have free time on public transport or to go to university, you can reserve it to study small things, such asflash cards, or to read acourse.

What applications to organize your revisions?

But these applications are limited, because they relate ONLY to the planning of your learning time. StudySmarter, on the other hand, is an all-in-one learning platform where you can keep all of your lessons, create flashcards and review sheets, and practice to see what you’ve learned from the course and what you’ve learned. still have to concentrate.

And then, in addition to all these great features, we have our smart planner StudySmarter which automatically creates your personalized revision schedule !

Why organize your study time?

When we are a student, our attention is taken up by many things: social activities, sports, homework and exams, parties, doctor’s appointments, etc. We are very busy and the days get confused easily. Then, the exam period comes quickly and you realize that you don’t have enough time to study everything you need.

This is why it is essential to structure and control your time . If you are not a fan of planning, the advantage is that the application takes care of everything ! You don’t need to plan your daily activities meticulously. On the other hand, you must set aside time slots every day (or every two days) to prepare for your exam or your assignment.

Ideally, you should establish your plan as soon as possible – you know that exams take place at the end of each semester, so start structuring your review schedule accordingly.  Even by devoting 30 minutes a day to proofreading your lesson the day before, you will make a difference and avoid the famous last-minute cramming.

To create a review schedule, you need to determine which days are best for review . Maybe Tuesdays and Thursdays, for an hour a day (don’t forget to plan breaks!). List the subjects you will study, and most importantly, set your study goals and ambition for each review session. Remember that your goals should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound). Don’t go into a study session thinking, “I’m going to learn three chapters before midnight. This goal is too overwhelming and not very realistic, and you risk procrastinating and quickly becoming demotivated.

Of course, you can still use the good old paper and pencil to plan your studies. If that’s what suits you, go for it! BUT you should consider using an app that can track your progress and goals and send you reminders and notifications to motivate you .

As we said above, our goal is to make your revisions, including the creation of your revision schedule, more efficient. All you have to do is enter your exam or assignment dates for each of your folders, and the Study Smarter app will do the rest for you. It’s simple as hello !

You can set goals per week in the app. When you click on the “Create a goal” button, you are asked the following question: “This week, I want to study ____ hours”. You then choose the (realistically) number of hours you want to study, and the Study Smarter app will then track your progress. You can always adjust this goal as the week progresses. The same goes for flashcards.
